Emin Poljarević is Associate Professor of Islamic Theology and Philosophy and Docent in Sociology of Religion at Uppsala University. His research brings Islamic theology and ethical analysis into conversation with sociology of religion and political inquiry. He studies Muslim liberation theology, political theology, Salafism and contemporary Islamic movements, Islamophobia, Muslim civil society, lived Islam, and the intellectual and ethical legacies of Malcolm X.
His wider academic engagement includes curriculum and programme development, doctoral supervision, editorial work, institutional training, and collaboration with universities, public institutions, faith-based organisations, civil-society organisations, and human-rights actors.
